Camp Kenwood for Boys was founded in 1930 by Ken Huberman. In 1950 Huberman and his wife Bernice founded Camp Evergreen for Girls, the sister camp of Kenwood. The camps were sold in 1959 to Arthur and Judy Sharenow, who owned and operated the summer camps until 1997. At that time they were sold to Scott Brody, a former camper and longtime staff member. Scott has owned and operated Kenwood and Evergreen since that time. Scott is also the former Vice President of the American Camp Association.
Owner/Director Scott Brody pioneered the concept that summer camps could be a solution for the widening employment skills gap in the American workforce. Much of his analysis and subsequent national advocacy stems from his collaboration with P21.org and the American Camp Association. Some of the 21st Century Skills that Kenwood and Evergreen focus on include creativity, collaboration, responsibility, leadership, critical thinking, communication, adaptability, and flexibility.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=Teaching the Skills That Children Need to Succeed | American Camp Association )
